The other day Marley was playing in the bathroom. That is always dangerous, so I told her to come out. I was trying to avoid toilet water on the floor or my having my toothbrush used on things not teeth. So I told Marley to come out of the bathroom multiple times, but she refused. Finally I said, "Marley, you can either come out of the bathroom, or get spanked. What do you choose?". Marley paused and finally said "Ummmmmm.....a doggy!". I think the lesson to be learned here is that if choice A and choice B don't sound good, just make up a choice C.
We love Halloween! Miley loves the treats and Marley loves dressing up. Miley has insisted for a year that she wanted to be a pumpkin. After looking for a cute pumpkin outfit that didn't cost a fortune, Mandy decided she would just make it. When Marley chose to be a puppy, Mandy was able to use the same pattern for hers. The girls wore their costumes to a couple parties, and Miley's preschool had a Harvest program. Mason and Mandy went to a friend's party and decided to be Frankenstein and the mad scientist. We love the fall weather, the pumpkins and costumes, and all the opportunities to get together with friends!

We painted pumpkins again this year. Miley actually put a face on hers this year, but Marley's was just a lot of paint everywhere. Mason's of course turned out the best. Miley told Mandy that she always puts spiders for hair, and that this year I should make the hair out of snakes!
We were in Vegas for the weekend. Although the girls have been there many times, they have never been to the strip. So we decided to take them to the Bellagio Hotel to see the conservatory and fountains. They always have the conservatory decked out for the season. This year they had a bunch of large pumpkins (all over 700 pounds), a scarecrow, huge mechanical venus fly traps, a orchid house, and many beautiful flowers. Then we took them to see the fountain show. The water dances to music The kids loved it all. They were also impressed with all the lights on the strip. Miley made sure to point out that many of the girls on the signs were "immodest because they aren't wearing clothes!". Oops! We forgot how provocative the strip can be!

During summer you can sign up for lots of week long classes thorough the City. Miley took a week long Tae Kwon Do class and loved it! SHe called it her "Hong Kong Phooey" class.

A good friend took his kids and our two girls to a farm this spring to see new baby lambs. Miley is always asking to go to a "real farm".
One of the restaurants we ate at in Mexico had this monkey hanging from the ceiling. Miley couldn't resist posing with it!
We have some random but fun pictures of the girls, so I though I would do some individual posts. Miley is the greatest 4 year old ever! She is our creative, sensitive girl. She can be a bit dramatic at times, but she is her own person and is happiest making friends. Her aunt Michelle says she is like a little butterfly. She just flutters around happily, sometimes slightly oblivious to what is going on around her. She loves animals and is very caring. Hr big thing right now is that she wants a Pony birthday party and she loves to collect bugs. She loves preschool and it has never bothered her one bit to be away from her parents. She just makes friends with whoever she is with. She is very smart and always says the most astounding things! We love her with all our heart!
This is when a friend took the girls to a farm. They both adore animals.
One day I couldn't find Marley anywhere. the cupboard under my second kitchen sink is empty , so the girls often play in there. Marley discovered it was filled with stuffed animals one day and decided it looked cozy enough for a nap!
Here are a few random pictures of Marley. We lovingly refer to her as "Spawn of Chucky". She is a wee bit violent, but she also preforms the acts of terror with a huge smile on her face. How can you not love that? She used to completely terrorize kids, and then finish it off by saying "tickle, tickle". She would then look at us like , "See! We're just playing! Ignore the blood!" She loves all things dinosaurs and dogs. She is super cuddly, and super sassy. She is far more tom-boyish than Miley, which makes life interesting. Her little quirk is hair. She is always either holding on to her ponytail, or hugging her mom so she can play with her mom's long hair (its not so much that she wants to hug, that is just the most efficient way of reaching the hair).We love her so much and love what good friends the two girls are.
During a lesson on the Word of Wisdom I asked if anyone knew what beer or alcohol was.
"I do!" yelled Miley.
"It's this stuff you drink, and then you get in a car, and then you can't see. So you bonker into something and you don't remember it the next day!"
I told her that was a perfect explanation and asked where she learned that.
"At church!"
"Mom, your nose breath smells like corn."
"Mom, there is a boy at preschool who wore a yellow shirt today and he is SO ROMANTIC!"
"He is just SOOOOOO Romantic and I can't stop dreaming about him!"
Mom: "What does he do that is romantic?"
"I don't know but I kissed him!"
Mom: "You kissed him?!? What is his name?"
"I don't know!" (she said this in a perplexed voice as if she didn't understand what kissing and knowing a boy's name had to do with each other."
A conversation with a primary teacher:
Teacher: "I knew your daddy when he was little."
Miley: "My dad works hard."
Teacher: "Is your daddy a lawyer?"
Miley: "He's not a liar! He doesn't lie!"
Teacher: "Oh what does he do?"
Miley: "He builds houses!"
Our waiter at a restaraunt brought Miley her juice, so I told her to say thank you. She looked straight into his eyes and with a perfectly serious face said, "Thank you servant."
"Mommy, why is Marley drinking your belly?" Miley thinks it's very funny when I nurse Marley.
" Let's play hide and sneak. I hide, you sneak!"
"Look! Elders!" Her take on the movie, "Men in Black."
"Mommy I have a frog in my tummy!"I panicked for a minute until she hiccuped and I realized that is what she was referring to!
"Ladies bums." This was her response when I asked her if she wanted her room decorated in farm animals or lady bugs.

As I am peeling a hard boiled egg Miley says "Hatching mommy, it hatching!"
Mason was watching the NBA Finals. Miley walked up to the TV and while touching the players on the screen says, "Tickle, tickle, tickle."
While inserting her hand into her drink of water Miley says "Too wet mommy! Too wet!" She also thinks her baths are "Too wet." Don't you hate it when your water is too wet?!?!
The other day we were trying to get Miley to dance with us. She didn't think the entry way was a good dancing area, so she drug me into the dining room. Once there she starting dancing and yelling at me, "Polka Mommy, Polka!" We have never polka danced before, or even used the word polka, but apparently she decided we had neglected this fine art long enough.
