Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. The week leading up to Thanksgiving, Miley had a "mommy and me" activity at preschool. We made pinecone turkeys, wrote thanksgiving stories, and made cookies. It was a blast. Then they hosted a Thanksgiving Feast for all the families. Miley and the other kids helped make chicken soup, fruit salad, and muffins. It was a great activity. We are truly grateful for the wonderful preschool program that she attends.Then we headed down to southern Utah to spend the holiday with Mason's family. The kids love seeing all their cousins.

Marley and Miley love this marble track. But Miley decided she was going to block the bottom and line marbles all the way up to the top. Marley "helped". They were so proud of their achievement!

Young Women

For the last 2 years, Mandy has been the Young Women's president in our ward. Recently we had Young Women in Excellence. It turned out so cute I thought I would share a few pictures. We also had a photographer come for a recent activity and do a photo shoot. They are all such wonderful girls. It has blessed our whole family to have them in our lives!

The theme was SMILE. Striving to Make It Last Eternally. We talked about the things that bring us eternal happiness, not just momentary joy. We also talked about how personal progress helps us learn the things that will make us truly happy.

Happy birthday

Mandy had a birthday in November. She was given lots of wonderful gifts including cookbooks, an iphone, a massage certificate, new sewing scissors, and Mason even sent her flowers!

Mandy basically uses whatever old phone is laying around. And she is horrible at texting. But Mason felt she need to get into "the 21st Century", so he got her an iphone!

Poor Mason

We had our ultrasound today, and it is most definitely another little girl! We are very excited, but poor Mason will now be outnumbered 4 to 1. I guess he just needs to get used to pink, princesses, and drama!

Marley's take on choices.

The other day Marley was playing in the bathroom. That is always dangerous, so I told her to come out. I was trying to avoid toilet water on the floor or my having my toothbrush used on things not teeth. So I told Marley to come out of the bathroom multiple times, but she refused. Finally I said, "Marley, you can either come out of the bathroom, or get spanked. What do you choose?". Marley paused and finally said "Ummmmmm.....a doggy!".
I think the lesson to be learned here is that if choice A and choice B don't sound good, just make up a choice C.

Happy Halloween

We love Halloween! Miley loves the treats and Marley loves dressing up. Miley has insisted for a year that she wanted to be a pumpkin. After looking for a cute pumpkin outfit that didn't cost a fortune, Mandy decided she would just make it. When Marley chose to be a puppy, Mandy was able to use the same pattern for hers. The girls wore their costumes to a couple parties, and Miley's preschool had a Harvest program. Mason and Mandy went to a friend's party and decided to be Frankenstein and the mad scientist. We love the fall weather, the pumpkins and costumes, and all the opportunities to get together with friends!
